Kooza - Cirque du Soleil

We like celebrating special occasions by spending the day out together as a family. For our little one's birthday, we decided to go to the Cirque du Soleil. The shows are always spectacular and theatrical. We had a great time - together.

Fairy tales come true

Magical beginnings.......

Our dog, Lacie, seemed to have a rainbow on her the entire day. A sun catcher is a great way to bring in some colorful fun. Children seem to love rainbows, some days we search for rainbows, other days we count them, some days we try and catch them, and everyday we enjoy them.

Outside our journey continues. I made a trip to the craft store when my little one was at school and bought some fun discoveries. A wind chime, a few rainbow wind twirling things, some flower pots to paint, and some ceramic mushrooms, but not just any old mushrooms.

...... They must be fairy houses.

My little one could not wait to paint her flower pots. Later on, we could plant some flowers in them and gift them to family and friends.

Clouds in the sky

Today brought us a drift of fluffy white clouds. An amazing day to just watch the clouds and try and find images within them. Something I vividly remember doing as a child. I missed a picture of the dragon's eye that was looking at us, but I caught the rubber ducky below. Do you see the duck, too?

My little one prompted me to take this picture.

Our dog Bernie trying to get a ball out of the wheel barrel that my little one put in the play house. I was wondering where the dog went.

A hunch

Where will we go today? What will we do?
hum, I think I might have a hunch.

Grab your basket. We are off to gather, collect, sort, and organize.

Next, outside to look for bees and then bugs. Her little eyes are wide open at the discovery of a bug.

Then, there is some more digging and discovering. And to my surprise, we are hula hooping. Look at the performance.

Our little discovery gets organized on the shelf.

Looking for bees

Looking for bees is my little one's first task when we go outside. The bees like to burrow in this sunny and sandy spot of our yard. And my little one likes to dig for them, in this once landscaped area. This is my view.

Spring rain

Spring rain
from Sing a Song of Seasons

Pitter patter, pitter patter, listen to the rain
Knocking on the window sill and on the window pane
Slowly creeping snail, the grass the flowers the grain
The birds up in the treetops
The frogs upon his lilly pad
Gree-dip gree-dip, gree-dip
And the children love the rain
Splashing in puddles
Splashy, splashy, wet
Splashing in the puddles
How wet can we get
All the earth loves the rain
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Listen to the rain
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Pitter patter, pitter patter
The sun comes out again

We really love this collection of 48 songs that follows the seasons of the year. It's great. There is a cd but we tend to come up with our own melody.

We needed our rain boots today. As we stepped out the door, my little one mentioned that she had on her rain boots and now she could jump in puddles. Well not exactly... but after school is a different story. ... How wet can we get! ... This song is meant from her.

After school, as soon as she came outside, she ran down the sidewalk and jump right in a puddle. Boy was that fun!!! At home, I barely caught a picture as she ran around the yard.

Food for our feathered friends

Her Matryoshka doll snuggled in to a flower bowl and nest.

And now my little one cuddles with her blanket. Can you see the silk in threads??? This is her third blanket and we are ready to get her a new one. The only little problem.... she loves this one.
